If you’re planning a wedding and want a day that feels fun, relaxed, and focused on being present, choosing the right venue makes all the difference. Leigh & Blake’s wedding at The Oaks at Plum Creek was one of those days where everything flowed naturally. Nothing felt rushed or overcomplicated — just joyful, intentional, and full of energy.
Instead of walking through every moment of their wedding day, this post is an honest look at what it’s really like to get married here and who this venue is best suited for.
Guests: ~60 for the ceremony, ~80 for the reception
Season: Early fall
Vibe: Fun, relaxed, and intentional
Top priorities: Authentic moments, minimal stress, and a great party
Leigh & Blake wanted photography that felt real and unposed and a day centered around celebrating with their people. The Oaks supported that vision beautifully.
One of the biggest strengths of this venue is how everything happens in one place without ever feeling chaotic.
The space offers:
separate getting-ready rooms
an outdoor ceremony location
indoor and outdoor cocktail hour areas
a dedicated dinner room
a separate reception space
and a tucked-away speakeasy
This layout keeps the day flowing smoothly. Vendors can work efficiently, guests always know where to go, and couples can stay present instead of managing logistics.
Leigh & Blake’s outdoor ceremony transitioned seamlessly into cocktail hour and the reception. Because each part of the day has its own space, the timeline felt natural and unrushed.
Guests stayed relaxed and engaged the entire time — no confusion, no awkward pauses, just a steady, enjoyable flow from start to finish.
From behind the camera, The Oaks at Plum Creek is a dream.
The natural light is beautiful throughout the day, especially at sunset when golden light fills the dinner space and reflects through the glassware. The layout offers endless photo options, both indoors and out, and the staff is organized, attentive, and genuinely supportive.
All of that creates an environment where couples can relax — and where authentic moments naturally unfold.
One of my favorite features is the speakeasy.
It’s completely tucked away and perfect for sneaking off after the ceremony, taking fun, personality-filled portraits, or sharing a quiet moment together before the party begins. Leigh & Blake popped in right after their ceremony, and those images ended up being some of my favorites from the day.
The Oaks at Plum Creek is a great fit for couples who:
want a clean, timeless canvas
value a smooth, stress-free flow
care about guest experience
want great sound and space for dancing
love modern elegance without anything feeling stiff

The entire team worked seamlessly together — from thoughtful planning and florals to an energetic dance floor and a smooth, well-paced day.
Some of the most meaningful moments were unplanned: quiet laughter while Leigh got ready, an impromptu first look with her dad, the guys tying bowties together in the speakeasy, and Blake tearing up as Leigh walked down the aisle.
And then the party — a saxophone player, surprise Vegas-style sign, hats passed out, and a dance floor that stayed electric all night.
What made this wedding so special wasn’t just the space — it was how The Oaks at Plum Creek allowed the day to feel effortless, authentic, and genuinely fun.
As a photographer, it’s the kind of venue that allows real moments and artful images to coexist — without ever feeling rushed.
If you’re planning a wedding at The Oaks at Plum Creek and want photos that feel natural, joyful, and completely true to you, I’d love to be there. I care deeply about creating space for couples to slow down, feel supported, and actually enjoy their wedding day.
